Marian Abouzeid is the Associate Project Lead of the Lancet-AUB Commission on Syria. Based between Melbourne and Beirut, she is Senior Researcher, Humanitarian Issues in Armed Conflict, with the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership and a research affiliate with the Faculty of Health Sciences at the American University of Beirut. With extensive experience across a diverse range of organisational settings and contexts in Australia and internationally, she now works in global health and development research and advocacy, with a particular focus on the Eastern Mediterranean region. Marian holds a Masters and Doctorate in public health, and initial degrees in physiotherapy and medicine.
