Dr. Hadeel Abdelhameed is a casual research fellow at Alfred Deakin Institution for Globalisation and Citizenship, and an honorary associate at La Trobe University/ School of Humanities and Social Science/ English and Creative Arts. Her research interest revolves around Iraqi gender politics and feminism, Iraqi social movements, and Iraqi theatre and drama about war. She has been published in the Cambridge University Press, Journal of Contemporary Iraq and the Arab World, Australian Institute of International Affairs, and Arab Stage. Dr. Abdelhameed holds a PhD from La Trobe University on the comparative theatre and performing arts and women’s theatrical representations in war times, she also has a postgraduate diploma in Education from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and M.A. on American contemporary drama from Baghdad University.
